Jerry's Restaurant hadn't been open long in Hazard when this photo was taken in 1973. The business first opened in November 1968. It's a great shot for many reasons - Randa Dials, peaking at Larry Crutcher's menu instead of her own in a photo that captures a bit of Hazard's history. Connie Oliver is pictured on the right. Randa Dials is now Randa Harmon. Where are these three today?
..I'm probably not the best person to make the first post.I was young when it opened but I remember about Jerry's.It predated fast food restaurants.I remember being able to order outside and get food outside. As mentioned in first post it was a social gathering point. There was a meeting room. And they had good food.Ashame the building is still vacant since Cats' Time Out moved out a number of years ago.
i remember jerry's very well, it was where you could find pretty much anyone there on saturday night, just go there and park and if they were in town sooner or later they would cruise through, good food there, good memories.
When I was in 5th grade our girls basketball coaches took the whole team there to eat at the end of the season. I remember that was the first time I had ever eaten Hot Fudge Cake and I was in heaven lol
Seems strange the building was never sold. Makes me wonder how hard owner is trying or how much asking. Looks like it would be a good location for another business. I'm referring to property of Cats Time Out which was where Jerry's used to be.
I am told Cat Sizemore did sell the old Jerry's property which he used for Cats Time Out restaurant to somebody out of state. Why they aren't doing anything with the property I don't know. Apparantly the sale was long ago.

My sister worked at Jerry's for many, many years. She cooked and waited tables also. Her name was Madelyn. Any one remember her? Unfortunately she died in 2008, or she would still be telling things that went on there. She enjoyed telling jokes and partake in pranksters fun!!
A real friend is "hard" to find, "difficult" to leave and "Impossible " to forget.
