James "River Jim Allen - killed in retalliation for the murder of Richard Sanford Shakleford, 2. Andrew was killed in battle 7/16/1863, 3. Emery was killed by the Home Guard on his way home after the war at the mouth of Drowning Creek in Estill County with his brothers 4. Irvin and 6. John, 5. George survived the war, 7. Hay their allencat15, I know you don't remember me, but I used to babysit you when you were little, you can ask you family about me I was married to Jerry Fugate. My name is Connie You were just a little thing then.
Gorman Allen was the son of Lee and Martha Allen. Lee was the son of George and Rachel Combs Allen. Samuel and Susan are buried at the top of mountain there across from where Larry Allen lives at Rowdy. I have pictures of the graves. Samuel Allen once owned all the property from Little Buckhorn to the mouth of Ball. We also think Joshua Allen is buried there in the cemetery. We know there are eight graves there. One stone has SA written on it.
George Washington Noble wrote a book about Rowdy. It is located in the Breathitt Library. You can buy one or read it there. It has the names of alot of Rowdy people including Samuel Allen. George mentions having church at Samuels house. Its a good read.
Allen Cat you are my cousin. I know your dad too. I am the one who has the picture of Rachel Combs Allen. She raised my grandmother as her own. Rachel and George's daughter died of TB and they took my grandmother to raise. I am John Stacy's daughter and would love to talk to ya. firstname.lastname@example.org
