Hi Fe2004... Thanks so much for the information... I wasn't aware of Glenna being a cheerleader... and I had no idea what the other of my grandfather's brothers names were... Do you know if Ted married anyone besides my grandmother Sally Watts?? My dad always thought he had a half sister somewhere... Also, you wouldn't know how to get up with Glenna now, would you?? Again, you don't know how much I appreciate your help!! At least I know these people really existed! Not having ever seen a photo or anything of them... I find myself wondering sometimes if I or my little girl look or act like any of them... I would love to see a photo!!! Thanks Again and God Bless You!!! Take Care...
I'm still here, and kicking as hard as I can. I pray you All are having a Glorious day, and you are aware of the Lord's Spirit within you. Gang, when I see beauty in the world, and if the Holy Spirit isn't aroused inside me, I know, I wouldn't want to exist. When Christ left this world, He left God within us all. Remember, the God Head, "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit". One, and the same. Did you ever stop to think how God loves the number "3"?? It seems, everything reverent, and good, is a Trinity. Birth, life, and death. Husband, wife, and family. Heaven, Hell, and Earth. I could go on, but, I won't bore you. However, the very best is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, so know God is within, and we should feel so privileged we are worthy. Search for the Spirit, and he will definitely make Himself known to you. Our Comforter, but our God also. Be happy, and God Bless!!!!!!!!!!
Sweet Fe, I got my shirts, so most of my Christmas shopping is done. You save me every year. The shirts are beautiful, and I love the fact the fabric is not as heavy, as in the past years. Just the way I like. I have said it before, but, I'll say it again, you do a fantastic job, and I'm sure the entire family agrees with me. The work you put into the Reunion is noticed by all, and personally, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you lady for taking care of us so well, and am looking so forward to making my first Hardburly Reunion. I went to visit Freddie while I was in Hazard, and he and I plan to walk around, and remember our old "hang outs". Trust me, we have many. We have spit tobacco juice on every rock in Tribby and Hardburly, and each rock is special in its own way. I can't want till Labor Day to see you, and your precious family. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!
KC, Tyler, Eric, and I are going to be buddies, and I know it. Tell Tyler he better practice up on his "stand up" comedy. We are looking forward to a show. Tell him not to be shy (is he), because we all need humor in our lives. I talked to "Little Max" recently, and he might make the Reunion this year, if he travels South, instead of going North. The last time he headed for Hazard, he ended up in Juneau, Alaska. The only thing that stopped him, was the ocean up there. Can you believe, the guy was dodging seals and polar bears on the road, and he still thought he was headed for Kentucky. That "Little Max" is something, but you can't help loving the poor fellow. Oh yes, if he shows up sucking his thumb, don't laugh, because that helps him to find his mouth before he eats or drinks. By the way, I was facing the camera when Carnas took the picture of me, so you didn't see my "good side". All my life, people have told me I look better "going" than "coming", so I must have a nice looking back side. I thought about becoming a model, but there is not much work for a male who only has a "cute" butt. Oh well, we are, what we are. Right??
Dear Sister Sg, how did you like my sermon above? Sometimes, I get started, and I don't know when to shut up. I miss our "fussin' and fightin'" lady. Too bad you are not a hapless Tiger fan, or we could really go at it. The Tigers are go to begin slipping fast, and my Indians are going to win the Division, hands down. Hear that Lancelot, Vi?? Detroit is in first place right now, and the fans are ecstatic, but in the end, they will trip. Detroit sport's teams just need another century to get it together. Especially, the Piston's. Right Sg. Come on, argue with me?? I can't wait to see you in September lady. By the way, did you know the Happenings had a song by that title?? "See You In September"?? Oh yes, I'm still awaiting the song list. God Bless you Sister, and bring you nothing but Peace and love in your life. Take it easy, and don't work to hard. Thanks so much for everything, and you know what that is. A friend like you is special, and I thank our Lord every day you and I have been reunited, as wonderful friends, after all these years. God Bless.
Sweet, Loyal Louami. You never stop, and I know that is your preference. As soon as you can, post a picture of your "island". I just know it's so beautiful. And please, keep those little puppies still enough so you can take a good picture. They must be growing up by now, and I know they are beautiful little "fur balls". God Bless you in all you do, and never forget the Spirit I talked about above. He is there with you, so who can bring you down. Absolutely, no one!!!!!! Be happy, and know for sure, Hardburly loves you as one of their own. You have been so supportive of this forum, and we would be lost without you. I love you lady, and am looking so forward to seeing you again at the Reunion. By the way, you really impressed the Feltner clan too, and you are apart of that family also. Many will be there at the Reunion in September, and are looking forward to seeing you again. God Bless.
My special Cousin Vi. You are a true lady, and we love you too. You are from Hardburly, and a "blood" member of the forum, but we realize it takes much time, and effort to post. I can look forward to a message from you daily, and I pay special attention, because your words are so comforting to us all. Never change Cousin, and be the positive person you are today. I am praying you will make the Reunion, and we can relive some memories, although I have forgotten so much. If I'm not over stepping my bounds, could you give us an update regarding your precious Granddaughter?? I am still praying she will find herself, and grow up to be a fine lady, just like her Grandma. God Bless you Cousin, and may our Lord bring you only happy days. See you soon.
Well friendlies, I have talked enough for today. I just got a call from the infamous "Little Max", and it's always so hard to say "goodbye" to him. I will chat more next time. To ALL I haven't mentioned, I will say "hi" to you next time. God Bless you All, and God Bless our precious forum. Till later...

does anyone from Hardburly have any old stories to tell me about who the moonshiners were and the tales of the gunfights. or any pics of the ole mine sight at the end of h-burly mtn. please help me if you can.
hi seek in answer to your question about moonshiners, when the mines were going good, a lot of the miners made their own moonshine, my dad included, he had a spot under the floor that he made it, i wont use any names but one time a man had made moonshine and hid it in the closet, it exploded and the community sheriff thought that someone was shooting a gun. we had this one moonshiner and he would exchange it for coffee, prince albert and most anything, the young boys would go to the commissary and get this stuff and he would give them moonshine, he was told by some of the dads to not let their boys do this but he did anyway. hardburly was a very interesting place years ago.

Hello all, I hope you all had a wonderful day, and didn't hear one single child cry, squeal like a pig, or yell,"No, its mine!" or hear the other scream, " Sue! She hit me!!" Don't you just love kids? I do, but somedays I feel like I've been run through a wringer backwards! Like today?
Louami, it was good to talk to you, as usual. I can always depend on you to give me the lift that I need. The girls were a little bit better today, I think Brittany is still afraid that she's going to lose her sleep-over, so she is treading softly. Lauren will be Lauren though, she doesn't give a hoot who likes it or not! I do love them though. You know Sis, Deaser was right in what he said above that you are a real blessing to this forum, and we appreciate you and all that you do, we need a lot more people like you. I try to get you to slow down, and I know you won't. You wouldn't be you if you did. but I admire that in you, you are tough, but you can be a softie too. I was thinking after I hung up the phone today, how much alike we are, Its really strange, maybe thats why we "clicked" so fast, we sensed that in each other. You will never know how much you mean to me, never change, You are one special person!!! I love you!!
Dear Sweet Deaser1, I make up my mind that I'm gonna find you and slap you silly, and then you get on here and talk so sweet that I can't be upset anymore, and after you get me to thinking that you have decided to be good, you turn around and start picking on my Pistons again, What am I going to do with you?? Well, the Tigers are going to beat the Indians, that'll do it! Yuk, Yuk! Hey, what do you think about all this business about big nba stink? Could it be you are going to find out that I was right all the time? All kidding aside, don't ever doubt that you are very important to me also. I have other friends, but you and Trena are absolutely at the top of the list, You don't know how I wish that you and I had been able to sit down and talk way back then. There were times that I needed a "true" friend so bad, I think we would have been as close as we are now. But thats past, and I'm glad we are friends now, and know, for sure, that if you ever want to talk, I am as near as the phone, and no matter what I'm doing I'll stop. And Trena knows the same goes for her, I would never get so busy that I couldn't talk to either of you. Take special care of yourself, and remember you are loved!!
good people , I have to go find some food!!! I'll be back on later. Love to all, SG
Hi all. Thank Dad3 for giving us another Hardburly space. Hope to get this posted before the storm gets here. Hello Vi, We got some rain, but need more. If you want tomatoes, just wait a couple of weeks and I'll give you all you want, we got two out last week, the rest are still green, but I don't think it will be long. I'll have plenty for us and lots to give away. I love you.
He people, isn't Eddie Childers the one who used to post on here? I believe he is, but I don't remember the name he used. I'll check with Sam if none of you know. Ok, the storm is getting close, I'll say goodnight. I love you all. God Bless, SG
Hey Fe, your story reminds me of one. On weekends some of the card players would go up into the hills and clear a place to play poker. They had one guy who would go to the store for food and drinks, and he also would be a lookout for the law. These games lasted most of the day. One night a party was going on at the upper end of main street, and one guy had too much to drink ,and his buddies were carrying him down main street, all of a sudden the sherriff, Bill Cornett stopped everyone and asked who the guy was. He was told the guy was the son of a preacher that once lived in Hardburly. Bill said OK take him home or he would arrest him. I know the guy very, very well. This fellow is now a Christain. Sarah 28, I will try to e mail you a photo of Glenna who was a cheerleader for Hardburly. To all on the forum, God bless. Lancelot
Hi all, I hope all you good friends can forgive me for skipping out on you guys, but it's great that I didn't have to sign up all over again.
Deaser, you know I was worried to death that I had lost my looks and became second to you until I saw you last week and found that I had nothing to worry about, boy it's great to have the best looks out of nine boys, you can agree with that right deaser?
But kidding aside, the love we shared as we were comming up was just as strong as always and I can't wait to get togather with you soon to share more good times, I HAD A GREAT TIME WITH YOU BUDDY!!!!
ok everyone else, I love you people too, but he's my brother and I have to make him feel he's #1 well wait a second, carnus is #1 to, no wait sister cindy is #1 i'd better stop now.
you'll here from me soon........................................MAX
Welcome back Brother. I have to admit, you are a handsome fellow, but better looking than me??? Never!!!!! We did have a wonderful visit, didn't we? One, I will never forget. Can't wait to see your smiling face again. Please, don't leave us again, because you were truly missed on the forum. God Bless, and keep you safe and happy. Give the "boss" a hug and kiss for me. God Bless..........

Hey Louami, How is your day going? Mine is great! A friend of my Boss's picked up both girls and took them to a hands on museum, so for three and a half hours all I have is Michael and he will most likely sleep the whole time. Life is good!!!!! Now if I don't get bored, I'll be ok.
KC, how are you, did you post yesterday? I don't remember seeing a post from you. Is Eric doing all right? Give them a hug from me and tell them I love them.
therealthingbaby, You said you were coming to the homecoming. Do me a favor and talk your Mom into coming, ok? Tell her it sure would make Aunt Sue happy! I am so looking forward to it.
Sam, how are you ? I didn't get to come to Church Wednesday, and missed seeing you, Lord willing though, I 'll be there Sunday. I love you little Brother.
Hi Gang, It's nice to see the forum active again. I have missed all the news and what's happening in your "neck of the woods".....Things are looking better.
Little Max, it's great to hear from you again. I hope you will be at the Home-coming. If I had to make a decision as to who's the best looking, well, I'd have to decline. Guess what? All you guys are. Max, I haven't seen you. We'll see. Maybe we'll have a judging at the Home-coming and if Deaser1 didn't win!!!!! What would he do??? Naaa, we will skip that. He is good looking. Right?
Sg, my day is going well. I'm busy and only have a break long enough to post a short one. I'm still working on the island. This afternoon I'll be making sour kraut. I don't plan on making a lot, maybe 25 or so quarts. I'm so proud of you, my Sister. We've prayed together and shared opinions and you always give me a good outlook on everything. You are faithful to lend an ear when I'm feeling down. I know you'll be there for me as I will be for you. I love you and God bless.
KC, I want to see the boys again. I sure hope you'll be at the Home-Coming. You and I can honestly say we make work. I think sometimes it's not good but, there's always something to do. Hey, Gammaw is the same way. I hope she gets some rest after her trip.
Vi, it's always good to read your posts. I guess you're getting back in the swing of your daily. Don't over-do. Since we've made it to the 49.95 mark we need to walk a little slower, smell the roses. Look who's talking!!! I do believe we can do what we feel like doing and be OK. Have a good week-end.
Deaser1, I loved the sermon. Your messages impart encouragement and inspiration. You have helped me more than you know. I love you.
Carnas, post when you can. I'll try and get some pics of the pooches on soon. They are so active and each of them have their own personalities. Of course theres one Bully......he's the big one. The rest are tiny.
I didn't mention some of you but you are remembered in my prayers. I love you all. God bless..............................................Louami
I pray you ALL are having a splendid day, and our Lord is constantly reminding you of how close He is. It is sure humid in C-land today. I was sitting in the back yard earlier, and a huge Lake Erie Crap floated by. Next time I go out, I'm taking rod and reel, and maybe catch enough fish (not carp) for supper.
Gammaw and Roamer, you folks are surely busy. It's hard to know if you are actually at your "Ol' Kentucky Home", or on the road somewhere. Roamer, your user ID is definitely appropriate, because you are that, a roamer. God Bless you two for all the fine mission work you do. We are still awaiting stories from the Poland trip, and pictures too. Gammaw, I especially miss your posts, because your words are so uplifting. I am looking so forward to seeing you at the Reunion, because, like you, I love to talk about our Lord. You keep Roamer "in line", and take care of yourself. By the way, how is Patches doing these days? I'm sure he has become a big part of the family, and when you do go away, I'm sure you really miss each other. God Bless.
How are you doing Brother Sam. Sorry I missed you while I was in Michigan. I told all the Brothers you said "hi", and would see them at the Reunion. Right now, it appears they will all be there, with the exception of Jim and David. However, even David has promised me he is going to try, so maybe, he'll be there too. I miss say, Melissa is a fine looking lady. Every time I have seen her, she has a smile from ear to ear, which tells me, she confident in herself, and has that inner Peace we all seek. I know you are so proud of her, and who could blame you. I am looking forward to finally meeting you at the Reunion. We should all have a great time. God Bless you, and your precious family.
Folks, I just got a call, and for fear of losing what I've already typed, I'm going to go for now. I will log on later, if time permits, and continue my chat. God Bless........

Hello everyone. How's everyone doing? Looks like better because the forum is coming back to life.
I just got home. I spent most of the day at Daddy's. Tomorrow is my brother's birthday and we decided to celebrate it today. Just a basic gathering - Daddy, Michael, Johnathan, Johnny, Kristi, myself and the boys. It went well though. Just a long day though. We were suprised with Amy and her boyfriend showing up. It seems odd to see someone tall wall through the door!
I ended up having to take Eric to the Dr yesterday. His cough was starting to get worse and he was starting to get a low grade fever. The Dr said it was starting to get in his lungs and told me to start him back on breathing treatments again. He also gave him some steroids and an antibiotic. Tyler is doing well though.
Sg, I don't even know if I posted yesterday. I don't think I did. The past few times I've started to post, I got pulled away and didn't have the time.
I'm gonna get off here. I have to go and cook some supper for the family before it gets any later. Everyone have a great evening and I'll check back in tomorrow.

Good evening all, just a few words before I say goodnight. I didn't sleep too well last night because it thundered so loud, and I have been so sleepy today, that I could barely function.
Deaser1, I just wanted to tell you before I forget, that I was just teasing about the "quarne" I really do like your stories, but I think you are too hard of poor Max. So keep them coming. I love you, brother.
Louami, I'm sure glad you are going to make kraut, you really needed somthing to keep you busy. Just kidding! Did you buy cabbage or grow it? I'm not going to tell you to slow down, because I know you won't, besides I'm proud of you for being such a go-getter, you don't let anything slow you down, Just know your limits ok? Our tomatoes are just beginning to come in, I want a good fresh salad so bad I can almost taste it. Joe brought Debbie and me in four small tomatoes a little while ago, and they were sooooo good! It wont be long. Well, I'm going to get off here and try to get some sleep. I love you all, and I will post again tomorrow. I hope everyone else does to! God Bless, SG
Hi gang; Hope this day finds everyone happy, healthy and wise as for me a little tired but its the weekend,Oh Boy,the little lady will have me doing chores today.
Lancelot, nice to hear from you,our beloved tigers are kind of struggling at the moment, still in first place though. Lancelot,I to remember when they played cards there in Hardburly, seems anywhere they could find a spot, the creek bed,in the woods somewhere, under the security light there at Curt's store, nothing could deter them from playing their favorite game,of course someone had to watch out for the law even though they had no reason to come to Hardburly back then but if they did appear everyone would scatter. I do remember when two gentlemen got into a fight there at the ball park, won't mention no names but they both were to drunk to even throw a swing, they just watered around on the ball court, kind of funny if you saw it.
Deaser,I just want to say again that it was a pleasure having you here for a week "although I got nothing done",seems that I not only bonded with my brother but have found a new friend in you,you know how to treat people with dignity and respect,I guest we all have that trait, probably got it from our mother but it had been awhile since I saw you, I'll never forget the visit,we were like two brothers should be,like living back there in Tribbey or Hardburly, exploying things together,I'll never forget, love you brother and by the way did anyone ever tell you that you walk just like dad?,glad you found your way to Michigan to be with the rest of the family, don't stay away to long anymore.
Max,glad you finally posted again, seems you and Deaser had a ball while He was up there, its heart warming to know that, tell all the kids and Bobbie hi from Rose-Ann and I,hope and pray that I'll see you at the home coming, got the family suite reserved at the Holiday Inn so there'll be plenty of room for everyone, love you brother and may God bless.
Louami, you are so lucky to be living so close to Heaven up there in God's country,it was a pleasure seeing you again at the reunion, sorry we couldn't socialize more but with all the family and friends there it was hard for me to get around and talk to each and everyone "not that I talk that much anyway"but believe me I adore what you do for the vets and other people in your life, again you are an extraordinary person, hope the puppies are doing great, again sorry about Ro-Ho,I know you miss him.
Fe,hope things are great in your life,so sorry I missed you the last time I was there but I'll see you on Labor Day weekend,if there's anything that I can do just let me know. Fe,I did get to see Sam and Freddy,Sam look great compared to last year,He was a dear friend while I was growing up there, still is,stayed over night many a time with him, listening to Kentucky basketball and His wonderful mother would awake us with a big country baeakfast, its always nice to go back and see friends, take care and stay cool.
Sg,hope your tomatoes come in soon, down here they are almost gone, guess the climate makes all the difference, there's nothing like going out and taking a red ripe tomato off the vine and eating it with a little salt and OH how they taste with a plate of freshly cooked green beans and a pone of corn bread,I did have some of your Mother's green beans last year at the home-coming and they were great. Sg,how about having a Hardburly home-coming up there in Michigan some day, there is alot of Hardburlians inbedded there in Southern Michigan,Vi and all Her family, the Feltners,Yvonne Strong and Her family, your family and I'm sure theres alot more, wouldn't that be nice?
Roamer,Gammaw, hope you'll doing o.k,have you guys posted lately?,sure would be nice to hear from you,did you take pictures while you were in Poland?,be nice to see them, how was the trip?,was it what you expected?,let us know.
Well gang I better get off here,I'm sure the little lady will have Me up early in the morn.,searching for things I should have done years ago.
Marmar,Buford, kirmitthefrog and all the rest,we havn't forgotten you guys, need to hear from you.
