Hi Gang,
Hey, I'm back. Rejoice!!!!!!!! Right, ladies?? I let you sweeties have a couple days off to be nice, but now I'm back with a vengeance. Here that Vi?? You told me my LeBron Jame's tennies were in the mail, and you knew all along that was a "fib". Shame on you for building me up, and letting me down so hard. As my Pappy used to say, "Dear, sweet little Deaser1, who never owned a pair of LeBron Jame's tennies in his life, but never complained, the apple of his Mom's eye, protector of innocent little squirrels, what goes up, has to come down". And Vi, you are coming down with a "thud". I love you ladies, even though you still treat me like I deserve (I mean, like I don't deserve).
Folks, as you know, we had a terrible storm in Cleveland yesterday. I woke up yesterday, and there was a 10 feet snow drift right in front of my door. I couldn't believe it, but there it was, blocking me from going out to get the newspaper. Well, I was forced to get out the old snow shovel, and I proceeded to begin removing the snow. I plunged the shovel into that snow drift, and hit something solid. I thought, "Well, it could be ice", so I pulled the shovel out, and plunged it into the snow again, a little lower this time. Still, hit something solid as a rock. So, I lowered my aim, and plunged again. Still hard. At this time, I was getting annoyed, so I just continued to drive that shovel into the snow, in an attempt to break up the ice so I could shovel the snow. All of a sudden, the snow where I was plunging the shovel, began to turn red. I was shocked. Well, to make a long story short, I took my time removing the rest of that snow drift, and low and behold, underneath all that snow, I found the UPS delivery man. What's worse, I had almost hacked off his legs with my snow shovel. Believe that?? Woe was he, and woe would have been me, if he had good legs, to run fast enough to catch me. Today, I'm afraid to answer my own doorbell.
Friendlies, a lot of you are beginning to feel sorry for my Brother, Little Max, and asking me to stop telling "Little Max" stories. Well, forget about it. You have a choice of "squirrel brains" or "Little Max", and right now, "Little Max" is "it". Of course, I will continue to be as truthful as I have been in the past (believe that), so either "grin and bear it", or wait till I begin talking about "squirrel brains" again. By the way, the following is another true (with finger's crossed) escapade in the childhood adventures of "Little Max".
Folks, one warm summer day, "Little Max" had a strong urge to use the bathroom, so he headed to the outhouse. He was just about there, when he noticed the door was shut, and he heard our Dad cough. Now, Little Max knew if Dad was in the toilet, especially in nice weather, he would be in there for three or four hours, so "Little Max" decided to do the next best thing, and go to the bathroom in the field, adjacent to the outhouse. "Max" selected himself a good spot in the field, dropped his little overalls, and squatted down to do his business. After a minute or so, "Little Max" just happened to glance down toward the ground, and there, on the ground between his legs, was something black and long. "Max" thought to himself, "That long thing on the ground isn't me, so it must be a SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!". That was it!!!!!!!!! A snake!!!!!! Scared "Little Max so bad, all he could think to do was pull up his little overalls, as fast as he could, and run, as fast as he could. Unfortunately, when "Little Max" pulled up his pants, the snake, somehow got caught on "Little Max's" britches, and he pulled the snake off the ground, and into the back of his overalls. The only thing visible of the snake, was its tail sticking out of the back of "Little Max's" overalls. He came running in the house, jumping up and down, and screaming, "It's in my pants, it's in my pants". I looked at the back of "Little Max's" britches, where he was pointing, and all I could see was that snakes tail. I thought to myself, "Well, "Max" is the "missing link" after all". "Little Max" continued to run all through the house, screaming at the top of his lungs, for someone to get the snake out of his pants. Unfortunately, it took me, and three of my Brother's to finally tackle "Max", while another Brother pulled out the snake. By then, "Little Max" had "quarned" his britches. So, we ended up turning the snake loose, and dumping "Little Max" in the creek, so he could get clean. Believe that??? Folks, would I lie to you, if I was telling the truth? Or, would a lie be the truth, if the truth were a lie?? Well, you know what I mean?? Right?? And, to think, some of you feel sorry for "Little Max". I will never understand.
OK, enough for today. I do want to welcome the "newbies". Gammaw, I will remember, you are on the road, and you are in my prayers. The Lord is your passenger, and will keep you safe. God Bless you all, and keep you happy. Love you..............

Hello Forum Family, Great to see all the posts. I finished with all my tests at the hospital and a have the car packed and ready to head north. I understand from the weather man that Ky is supposed to get snow on Sat. and Sunday. You can bet I will not be out making snow angels but snugglin' inside with Roamer and Patches. Maybe we will just hibernate until spring.
I plan to leave around 7:30 a.m. so please pray for traveling mercies. I have the car loaded again. Will be taking my heavy coat, gloves and muffler for those cold Ky days.
Everyone take care and I'll post again soon.
Bless you all, Gammaw

Hello all. Just have a very few minutes to post so I'm gonna have to hurry.
I finally made it to Hazard today. I wasn't sure I was gonna make it but the sun came out this morning and even though it was in the 20's, the sun melted practically all the snow off. I was concerned about how I was gonna make my appt. with both boys but the good Lord worked it all out for me. Today was my dad's birthday and we all met in Hazard for his dinner and when we were done, I gave the boys to them and I went on to the Dr. After the appt. I met them at Daddy's for cake and ice cream. The Dr appt went as well as expected. The place is still there and he found another but with me being the way that I am, he wasn't overly concerned. He scheduled me for more ultrasounds and mamm in Aug. and follow-up with him in Sept. They've run me through the mill so much in the past 5 months that were gonna wait 6-7 months and start all over again.
Gammaw, I'm so glad that you're finally getting to head back home tomorrow. What perfect timing, snow forecast for the weekend and a perfect time to get to spend valuable make-up time with Roamer, aint that right Roamer. Be careful and post when you get home and let us know you made it okay.
Sg, where are you? I'm not used to you not posting at least once a day. Are you feeling okay? I thought you have to put your 2 cents worth in on Deaser1. Post when you can.
Well, I'm gonna get off here. I need to get Eric's bed made before I can put him down. I forgot to wash his wet bedding this morning and here I am tonight trying to get it done at the last minute.
Love you all and have a great night.

Hi Everybody,
I'm a happy camper tonight. By this time tomorrow night Gammaw will be here! Seems like it's been a month, and that's about how long it's been.
I have something to tell that's a little hard to believe. This old house has pull chain lights in the basement, we didn't remodel down there. The stairwell is dark and we had to go down the stairs to turn on the light. I got smart and tied a string to the chain on the light, tied it to a small hoop just inside the basement door so all I have to do is open the door, reach the string and pull it. I also added a couple of lights in the stairwell connected to the light at the bottom of the stairs so all three come on at the same time. Since the string was so long, I added another ring on the side of one of the steps level with the light to make it work easier. My grandson thought it was pretty "cool" (his words) that I hooked the string to the lights.
Today I was downstairs checking the fire and looked up and Patches was sitting on the step beside the ring holding the string. As I watched, she reached out with her paw, pulled the string close enough to get it in her teeth, pulled it and turned the light off. I know my mouth fell open. She looked up at the lights in the stairwell and the basement light and again reached for the string. She got it in her mouth again, pulled it, turned the light back on, looked at me with that "cat" look and went back upstairs. I was so amazed that I ran upstairs and called Gammaw to tell her.
I've been leaving the basement door open a little to let the heat from the stove upstairs. A couple of hours ago I started down the stairs to check the stove and the light was on. I didn't remember leaving it on but didn't think much about it. I was loading coal in the stove and just as I glanced up, Patches was reaching for the string again and turned the light out on me. It was really dark and I couldn't see anything. I yelled "oh no!" and she pulled the string and turned it back on. What can I do, I need to leave the door open, but I may have to take a flashlight with me just in case she's in a bad mood and won't turn it back on! Maybe I can teach her to use the bathroom and flush it, sure would be better than that stinky litter box. I knew she was a "Holy" cat but didn't realize she was so smart. I'm glad she turned the light back on!! Right now she's asleep in her chair.
Enough excitement for today, I need to save a little for tomorrow. Pray for Gammaw as she travels and I'll be sure to give her a hug for each and every one of you tomorrow afternoon.
Take care, friends. Stay warm and snuggle with somebody if you can. God Bless!

Hello all!
KC, I'm still here, I was just being lazy yesterday, but I couldn't have posted anyway, we were having problems with our server.I just thought I'd get on and say Hello to everyone before Ray and Debbie got here for Rook. How did Tyler do with his Science Project? I hope it went well. Tell them both Hi for me and give them a hug. I sure do love you guys!!
Roamer, I used to have a cat who would go "pee" in the toilet! He wouldn't flush it, but If we had tried I think we could have taught him! Cats are smart! Our last cat, ElGato, my son called him, would turn on the light at the bottom of the stairwell. We reversed the switches, and he started to turn it on and off upstairs, It was really funny.
Ok , our Rook partners just came so I'll talk to you guys later. Love to all................SG

Hi SG,
Looks like a slow Saturday instead of Friday. Where is everybody? I have an excuse, Gammaw is HERE!! She got here about 2:30, got the car unpacked and most of it put away in it's place. We rushed off to the grocery to stock up before the weekend. We're supposed to get some snow tomorrow and Sunday so we're ready, let it snow!
No school again today. The kids have had school one day in the past 2 weeks. I'm not sure when they will get out if they keep this up, might be the middle of summer before it's out. I think the school system is over cautious sometimes, there's been little or no snow on the ground all week.
Patches is such a traitor! Gammaw came here this afternoon and she turned her back on me, she's sitting in Gammaw's lap on the couch while I sit here on the loveseat by myself. I expected it, though, that they would gang up on me. I'm thinking about getting a turtle or something.
Everybody have a good weekend and please take time to post. I might need something to keep me occupied unless Patches changes her mind. Stay warm! Love you all! God Bless!

Hi gang; Hope everyone is keeping warm this evening, pretty cozy here but it is cold out side. We here in south central Kentucky have been lucky this winter,no snow to mention of but it has been pretty cold here, they are predicting some snow tonight and tomorrow but usally it don't happen,I'll let you know if we get any, It may be the last of the cold spell, they're predicting temperatures in the 50's next week,Spring may actually be on its way,I may even go down and jump in the Green river if it gets that warm. Louami,my geese have a hard time with these cold temperatures, their pond frezzes over and they have no water to drink unless I get down there and break the ice for them, they do sit on the ice and make a hole in the pond so they can at lease have water but I know they do miss swimming in their pond,I don't know who'll be happier when Spring actually arrives, the geese or me.How's Ro-Ho doing these days,I know you havn't mentioned him lately,I bet he's just as proud as always. Marmar, hope things in Hop-Town is alright, havn't heard from you lately, keep posting and let us know how you are doing. Fe,hope alls well in old Hardburly, only little over six months until the home-coming,I bet you are in the planning stages already, artn't you?,I hope the forum family will be there this year, hear that Deaser and Vi?.Fe tell everyone I said hi. Fe,I do have one request for you, could you name some of the older people there that I would know, its been a long time and I probably have forgotten many people that still live there,I just need a memory jog. Gammaw,I bet you are soooo happy to be back home, glad you made it o.k.,I bet Roamer and patches are happy. Sg,Sam,Deaser,Max and all you northern hillbillies, relieve is on the way,no more snow and cold tempertures,Spring is on its way. Folks,I usally don't ask for much from people but I do have a special person to add to your prayer list,My wife is having a hard time with her diabetes,She's not been feeling very good lately,if you can find it in your hearts to mention Her in your prayers it really would be appreciated,She is the most loving person in the whole wide world,She loves everyone "to hear her say it,everyone has got some good in them",She loves all creatures of God,whether it be human or any other animal,I know God already knows who She is but if you can find time to mention Her it really would be appreciated,Her name is Rose-Ann. Thanks Guys and Gals. Later Carnas.

Hello All, Thought I'd post before I got started with my day, I didn't get to post very much last night because Ray and Debbie came(the girls won 3 out of 4!) yee-haw!
Carnas, I will be happy to pray for Rose Ann, if she is half as sweet as you, she must be a wonderful person. I will also add her to the pray list at Church. Tell her we are praying for her and hope she feels better real soon.
I did it again friends, I walked into an SVS vision store and fell flat just inside the door! Scared everyone (including me) I thought I was done for, I tripped over a silly rug! I think the lady was scared because she thought I would sue, I assured her that I'm not that type of person, I could have been rich by now if I was like that! I'm ok, though, a little spot on my (good?) knee where I hit, and my right shoulder is a little tender, other than that I am my usual ornery self! Thank the Lord for watching over dummies!
Louami, I am sorry I had to go so fast yesterday, but Joe doesn't usually call me during the day, and if he calls on the house phone and I don't answer, and then calls the cell, it scares me. Yesterday, he just wanted to tell me not to pick up Pizza for Rook night because he had made a big pot of chili. He makes the best chili in the world! But he makes enough to last 2 weeks!
Gammaw, I am so glad you are home. I'm sure Roamer is a happy man! Did you have any problem with weather? I hope you can stay put for awhile and enjoy home, both of you. If I were you I would feel that I had traveled enough for awhile. Roamer, did you ever consider getting a hamster? I think you can give up on Patces, she only used you till Gammaw came home. The trouble is she would probably eat the hamster! Maybe you should get a dog? That would get her back! You guys enjoy each other and stay warm. I love you both!
Well, I have to get off here, I have two baby showers to go to today, and no gifts yet! woe is me! I love you all very much, will try to post later, but it will probably be to myself! Stay safe and God bless...SG

I hope everyone is having a great day. Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday, my computer isn't working well at all. I actually got on for about 10 minutes yesterday and then it just quit. I worked on it off and on all day up until about 11:00 last night and still no luck. Tyler came in here and turned it on this morning and of course he's the one with the magic touch. As you can tell, it's working, at least right now.
Sg, you said you fell in a vision store. Were you there to get glasses? Ha, Ha! I'm glad you're alright but I'm sorry to say that I would've probably laughed at you and really hard! Again, I'm glad you're okay. Do you guys still have any snow on the ground? Ours is pretty much all gone except for a few places on our road. But they're giving up to 2" by Sunday morning. If we get it, looks like another missed Sunday of teaching for me again.
Gammaw, I'm so glad that you made it home safely. I hate traveling on the highways, especially on long trips and alone, that's another story. I'm one of those people that sometimes has a hard time driving home from Perry County in the dark. When I'm tired, I keep something to drink or eat to help keep me awake, If I didn't, there would've been times that I wouldn't have been able to make the drive. I drove one long trip one time to upper Ohio and back and it was no fun. It was a 2-3 day visit with his sister and if I hadn't had Duck to follow and talk to on the CB, I'd never made it. I ate quite a few big bags of chips and pop and that trip. Again, I'm glad you made it home safely. Roamer, if you start feeling too left out now that Gammaw is back and all of her attention is being taken from you with Patches, you've always got friends on here to help make you feel loved. I loved the story about Patches and the light cord. As I was sitting here reading it, I was laughing because I could just see your expression on your face when you were standing there in the dark. By the way, don't those 50"s in the forcast look wonderful!!!
Well, it's sounding like another off school day back there. I hear Eric screaming at Tyler so I'm gonna have to go back there and break the 2 of them up. Everyone on here have a great day and if all goes well with my computer, I may try to get on and post again later this evening.

Hi Everybody,
It's warmer today, 30 right now. We're supposed to get some snow today and tonight but so far it's just a little on the ground. I think they said 2-3 inches possible. So far, they've not gotten it right so I don't expect anything different this time, either.
KC, Patches has decided to share her affection between Gammaw and I. This afternoon she came to me and got up on my chest and took a nap. She hasn't done that in a while. Gammaw asked me a few minutes ago if I left the basement light on. I told her that I was sure I'd turned it off and asked if Patches was in there, she was. Little sneak is doing it again, turning the light off and on.
We've had a pretty quiet day, only out once to run to the post office. Gammaw informed me a little earlier that she had everything she'd brought with her yesterday put away. We had some pretty big snowflakes this afternoon but the temperature was just warm enough to melt them as soon as they hit the ground.
Looks like most folks are hibernating, there so few posts. SG, I'm glad you survived the fall with little injury. I think that as I get older, bumps and bruises take a lot longer to heal.
OK, time to go. Remember church tomorrow. Love you all! Take care and God Bless!

Hi to you all,
I’m getting behind in posting and apologize to everyone for being so slothful. The winter weather sometimes seems to eradicate our motivated behavior. I’ve done very little today.
Carnas, Rose Ann has been in my prayers today. We honor all requests as we take them before our Lord. I believe you have the perfect helpmate. God has blessed you both. RoHo is doing fine! Thanks for asking. I have to admit it’s so cold walking to the barn every day but to see him “strut” is worth the trip. Like you, I’m having a hard time with the water. It freezes so fast and I worry that they will be thirsty. Like you said, spring will be here soon. I hope your geese will make it through winter and have goslings. They sure are pretty. I pray your wife is better soon. God bless.
Sg, I got the CD’s today and it was a blessing to me. Thanks! I will tell you more when we talk. I’m interested in the music on the one. Do they have a web site? Stay warm, God bless.
Roamer and Gammaw, it’s nice to know you can finally settle in and snuggle during this cold weather. Welcome home Gammaw. I love you.
It would be nice to hear from more of our family. You are missed. For all you newcomers we enjoy hearing from you too.
God bless and prayers……………………………Louami

Hi gang; Well we did get the snow that they predicted,I think it was around two inches. Coming home tonight from work I had to wait about an hour where the hill I have to go up,seems a car had gone over the hill "it was a solid sheet of ice",the state police was sitting there to make sure no one attempted to try and go up before they got the vehicle out of the way and the hill salted, man they're a lot of people that go over that hill when it gets slick, people should just stay at home when the roads get this bad,me included. Louami,Sg,thanks for the prayers,my wife is one wonderful person, she has no enemies and I do feel for Her when She's not feeling good, thanks again. Have a good Sunday all,may God bless each and everyone of you....... Later Carnas. P.s.,The real sport starts tomorrow.......Nascar.

Good Morning again all. I hope weather permitted you all to make it to church today, mine didn't. We got a good 2 inches of snow out there too. Duck went out yesterday evening and by the time he got back, he couldn't get home. He had to park his truck almost a mile away and walk home. Thankfully he had what he needed with him for the walk. He's gone right now to try to get it home again.
Napier86, I do know who you are. I was thinking that it was you but to make sure, I dug out some pictures from the reuinion.
Looks like the forum has been slow. I hope it picks up soon. Sg, are you still sore. I got an email yesterday from the lady I'd seen at Wal-Mart a week ago, she the one with a little girl who also has downs. She'd sent me a picture of her van. She told me that she had been in a wreck on Friday. Someone had pulled out in front of her and to avoid a head-on collision, she ended up going off the road and flipping her van. She said the 2 kids, ages 2 and 4 were with her but that they were doing okay but that she was sore. Please add her to your prayers. The top of the van was pushed in and shattered windows, it had to be so scary!
Sg, I forgot to tell you about Tyler's project. It turned out good. It took him that whole day to finish it up but he finally finished. It's still sitting over there because they've not had school since. Some of his buddies still hadn't finished theirs yesterday. I'm glad that Tyler's not in their shoes.
I need to get off here. Eric's not wanting to eat so I'm gonna have to go over there and try to get him to eat. I was looking at his wrist last week and compared it to my brother's baby who just turned 1 in December and their wrists were the same size, just a little more than 1.5 inches wide.
Everyone have a great day and I'll check back in again later.

Hi KC. My left shoulder is real sore! I can't reach up at all without severe pain, I've been taking Motrin, it will ease up in a little while, or I will have it checked out. What is your friends name that had the accident? Just the first name will do, so we can pray for her, I know that God knows her, but I like to bring a person's name before him. I'm glad Tyler got his project done. It won't be long till warm weather, then we won't have to worry about School cancelations. When I went to Church this morning the tree by the road was filled with singing birds, it sounded wonderful! I can't wait!
Carnas, you be careful on those icy roads, we don't want anything to happen to you! I hope your wife is doing better, tell her hello for me!
Louami, I believe Ray's groups website is Soul Assurance.net, but I'm not positive, it is on the disc somewhere, I think they are really good. I would love to do what they do. I think music is in my blood! I love it! Pray for me, my shoulder is really aching today, and I don't want to go to the Doctor again for awhile. I hate going to the Doctor. I have two appts. tomorrow and I think I'd rather work all day! Well, I'm going to get off here and see what I can get into. I love you all very much. God Bless......................SG
