Super Bowl time. Our church canceled service here tonight, there was a lot of snow up the hollers this morning. A lot of churches canceled their morning services but ours was on time. We had a lot of folks missing, I guess they assumed that since there was snow, there would be no church services. We had a good service but the decision was made to cancel services tonight.
I got ready to watch the super bowl and was in the kitchen when it started. By the time I walked into the living room, it was already 7-0 Bears. Gammaw and I used to go to church with the Colts coach Tony Dungy when we lived in Tampa and he was coaching the Tampa Bucs. He's such a nice man so Gammaw and I will be rooting for the Colts.
Speaking of Gammaw, she's at a Super Bowl party at church in Georgia right now. The party started at 5 pm with lots of food and snacks. I wish I was there with her, she won't watch much football with me when she's home. I hope she's having a good time.
Oh no, Chicago just scored again, it's 14-6 Chicago. Guess I'll get off her so I can scream and yell..

Hey Ya'all! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I haven't felt too good the last couple of days. But I'm feeling a lot better today.
Louami, it was close the first two quarters , I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Poor Lebron's toe seems to have improved a little! But apparently not enough, I'm determined to be a good girl!
Deaser1, Like I told Louami, I am going to be good, I am not going to say NA,NA,NA,NA,NA! I just couldn't be so mean as to say,NA,NA,NA,NA,NA! I mean, after all, it is just a game! And it is so wrong to rub it in and say,NA,NA,NA,NA,NA!! Especially when your King is suffering from a sore toe, I just couldn't do that! Besides, Plain talk is easy understood, Right? Love you bunches!! I mean, Gobble,Gobble!!!
Louami, I am so ashamed of myself (NOT!) I really enjoyed talking to you today. I really didn't mean to wake you up though. Hope you get to go off your mountain before long, or you are going to get "cabin fever". I have done nothing but sit for two days, except for the drive into Ypsilanti yesterday morning. I'm tired of sitting, but I still dread going out in this cold to work tomorrow. Oh well, gotta make the doughnuts!! I love you Sis!!! Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Pistons!!!!!!
Edd, sure was good to hear from you, we have wondered how you and you Mom were doing. Where are you planning on living, do you know? I hope its a little warmer than here! It is bitter cold! The wind yesterday was awful, I couldn't help but think of those poor folks in Florida. That was so awful. I can't imagine how they must feel. It teaches you to not take anything in this life for granted, because you don't know what the next second may hold.May God be with them!
Roamer, I sure would love to have that stove about right now! I am sitting hear with a heated"bean bag" under my feet! I sat in the living Rm. and watched the game, and it is the coldest room downstairs, by far! I nearly froze. I could have turned on the gas fireplace, but it burns so much propane, I hated to do it. I'm in the back of the house now, its a lot better back here. I pray Nan is doing ok, and can continue to stay in her home, It must be hard when an old person has to leave her home and go somewhere else to spend the time. Mother is determined to stay where she is as long as is absolutely possible, we worry about her though, Helen and Jeni stay with her a lot. I'm grateful for that. I wish I lived closer. Did you watch the game today? It was sooooooooo good!!!!! Love you, brother.
Gammaw, are you staying warm? I sure hope so! It ain't too warm here!!! I will continue to pray that the house will sell. We too, want you in "God's country" with Roamer, before he keels over with loneliness! (or lack of your good cooking!) Have a good time, and be careful! We love you!
KC, I don't think I like you limiting yourself on the computer! You are the Mother, you should get extra for senority!! We have to have a talk about this, girl! That will mean we won't hear from you as much as we did! That stinks! Tell the boys I said hello, and I love them! I love you,Sweetie, take care!
ok, people, I'll talk to you guys in a little while. Love you all! God Bless.................SG
Hi all. Hope all warm where you live.It sure is cold here with the wind chill it;s 18 below. Sg did you go to the doctor today?Hope you are ok.Guess where our Pistons is at?In Deaser1 home town.Do you think he at the game?Bet he yelling go Pistons. Gammaw i was 12 at the time of the 57 flood and my great aunt and uncle lived in Walkertowm right beside the pepsi plant they sold Pepsi the land and their house was flood we went and got all there muddy clothes, bed stuff and all that could be washed and cleaned and brought it to our house and my mom and grandma washed it and then we went and cleaned their house up.There was mud and everything else in it.As you said it was awonder we diddn;t catch something. But guess we was healthy then as people is now. Louami are you over with the flu or whatever you had?Sure hope so.I have acold now went shopping yesterday. But i hate to stay in the house i can;t take it.Guess i like to shop. Edd was good to hear from you.Keep in touch. Fe hope you are keeping warm. Roamer bet the stove did feel good.I love a stove or fireplace. We have a fireplace downstairs in the familyroom but when we use it the heat don;t come on so the other two levels of the house gets cold so in this weather we can;t use it. Deaser1 hope you enjoying the game i;m going downstairs to watch it.Hope the Pistons good luck. KC hope you and your family ok and don;t loss your electric. We used to all the time but they finally fixed the problem. Going to watch the game so will check in later.Love you all.God Bless. Vi
Hi Everybody, It's colder than a "well diggers behind" here. The wind is blowing and temps are falling fast. I managed to start all the vehicles today and defrost the snow off them. I haven't driven my truck in a while. There's lots of wood on the porch and would like nothing more than to make a fire in the wood stove but (you know how women are) I didn't realize when they installed the heat pump they put the thermostat behind the heater. If I make a fire in the stove the heat wouldn't kick on. It would be mighty cold in my bedroom so I'd have to use the wall heaters. See, I have it figured out, but nothing I can do about it. It's comfortable but there's something about a log burning on a winter night.
SG, I watched the game so I'm going to be nice to Deaser1!! Oh!! I just remembered there "ain't nothing nice about an old "HEN TURKEY" Gobble, Gobble! Gobble! Don't ever worry about waking me up. I should have been up earlier this morning I saw we had more snow so I'd rather stay in bed and forget about the work for a while. I enjoyed our visit. Love ya Sis!
Oh did I dreaded feeding the chickens. Their water freezes and I anticipate them dying of thirst. It probably froze again soon after I filled the water pan today.
I hope you all had fun watching the Super Bowl, just remember what all those snacks will do for ya! You want remember eating all those bologna sandwiches, potato chips, dip, cream puffs and cheese balls! See you should have stuck with popcorn! Deaser1, I know you watched, but did you watch your Cav's play?? I'm being so nice!! Just one "Gobble", OK? Love ya.
Vi, I hope you endure the cold weather. Try and stay warm. It's an igloo here on the mountain. I'm feeling much better since the bug. It lasted at least 24 hrs. and vanished. I'm back to my old self and feeling fine.
Edd, it's good to hear from you. I hope your move goes smoothly. Take care.
Folks, I have a few things to do and will say good night. stay warm and God bless...........................................Louami

Hey Ya'll, I thought I'd check to see if anyone else had posted before I went to bed, I see I did a double post. I didn't know what had happened to it. Must have hit the "post" I guess.
Roamer, it looks like the Colts are winning, right now anyway. Good luck. I don't do football, basketball is enough of a nail-biter sport for me. Football seems a little too rough. I hope your team wins though. Stay warm, We love you
Vi, it was a good game. Like I said, "I love it when a plan comes together!"I'm sure Deaser1 isn't too happy though!
Well, I better get off here and get ready for bed, 5:00 comes early, and I just remembered tonight that I have to pump gas. In this cold weather too! If you guys read about some nut up north that was found frozen solid at the gasoline pump , that will be me!! Can't say I look forward to it. Well I'll say goodnight to all, talk to you fine people tomorrow. Love to all and God Bless....................SG

Hello Forum Family, Have you noticed how many views our site is getting. Everyone will learn all our secrets.
Sam and Edd it was great to see your post, long time no post!!!! SG, glad you are feeling better, Louami, too. Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying this cold Monday. I'm not even sure what the temperature is here today since all my thermometers were taken to Ky. I haven't had the TV on so I really don't have any idea. The sun is shining though but the wind is pretty fierce. Think today would be a good day to stay indoors.
I had a great time at the Super Bowl Party at the church last night. They have had it for years but this was my first time. We had three viewing screens, two were about 4 x 6 ft and the one in the middle must have been 10 X10 feet. I was so thrilled that the colts won because their coach is a fine Christian man and was fired by the the Florida Bucs a few years ago. See how much they know!!!!
Our party started at 5 p.m. and it was such a great time of fellowship. We didn't show the commercials but inserted a Christian group singing. Each Adult Sunday school class planned their decorations, food and drinks. A prize was given to the class with the best area. The ladies class won and they really went all out with the decorations. They had a goal set up against the wall with a large bear on one side and a stuffed horse on the other. Then one table had a football field drawn on it with little black bears on one side and little ponies on the other. They went to a lot of trouble and won first place.
Our class combined with another class and some of the Praise Singers and had a lot of food. There was brunswick stew, two pots of chili, a crock pot of meatballs in barbecue sauce, hot chicken wings, hot dogs, a large vegetable platter with dip, a seven layer salad with salsa and chips, potato chips and dip, a crock pot full of hot cheese dip, three cakes, a cheese cake and a large tray of brownies. We had more "grazing" at our table than anyone else. The kids kept coming for the brownies and cake. The rules were once the class was finished eating then everyone could roam around and sample food from the other table. One group even had hot french fries and another group had popcorn in little brown bags, and candy kisses. We had to say a Bible verse before we could sample their goodies.
Our mission pastor set up two children's inflatable pools and put footballs in them for the kids. That was a big hit with the toddlers. They would fall into the pool on top of the balls. By the time half time rolled around all the kids were playing football inside the WAC center.
Our worship area is not like your traditional church (we still have our old section for weddings, etc.) it is really a gymnasium during the week and becomes a sanctuary on sunday. Most churches have nice pews and they are only used for two to three services a week. Our Worship and Activities Center is used almost every day of the week. We have stacking chairs that we roll into a garage door on the side and then roll them out for Sunday services. Our children and youth groups are quite large and there is always an activity going on. I know I am really going to miss this church but the Lord will be sending Roamer and I to other places to share the Good News....
Think I will go find something to do or maybe just read. I am ready for that last big moving truck to load up my stuff and head north. Keep praying for a sale - thank you..
Everyone take care, stay warm and safe. God BLess you each and everyone, Gammaw

Hello everyone. Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday. It was another one of those busy days. My brother came over to help me with my computer again. Been having trouble with it again. I didn't even get a chance to read the forum yesterday, I was afraid to turn in on for any long period. Let's just say that my Norton was getting a good workout! I turned it on this morning and I'm still having problems. Looks like my brother will be getting another call this afternoon!
I think I'm starting to get that closed in feeling! If Duck hadn't taken me out on Friday, this would've been one full week stuck in the house. I watched the weather on tv at 12 noon and they're forecasting snow again tomorrow. If they have it right, they gave anywhere from 4-6 inches for us. They are so bad at predicting the weather! They weren't even giving snow for the past 2 nights and we woke with snow on the ground both mornings. Looks like I won't be making it out of here again at least until weeks end, that's if it doesn't snow. If it does, I'll be asking Duck for another drive to Hazard! Winter's are long and hard in the country on those unworked roads. If it weren't for the fear of not being able to get back up the hill without sliding in the ditch or sliding off the side of the mountain, it'd be okay. I wish I lived right next to the road. Then I could go anytime I wanted, wouldn't that be nice!!! I didn't get to make it to church again yesterday. I wanted so bad to be able to make it. I ended up having to miss my friend's wedding. I hope it went well for her! If it snows tonight and tomorrow, there will go my Wednesday night service too! I'm beginning to think that the church is probably thinking that I've quit!
Well, Eric started acting a little different on Saturday evening and he coughed 1 or 2 times and it sounded funny, he'd had a runny nose for a couple of days. Well, he woke up yesterday morning and sounded like he was getting bronchitis again so I started breathing treatments again. He's not been eating much lately and doesn't seem as energetic as usual. His temp went up to 99.9 yesterday but I kept a close eye on him and by bedtime his temp had gone back down. I'm still giving him breathing treatments and he seems to feel better this morning, I hope it lasts but he still isn't eating much!
Looks like just about everyone was watching the game yesterday or at least checking it every once in a while. Would you believe I forgot about it! I didn't even remember it until I heard them talking about it on the news this morning. I guess you can tell I'm under priviledged. We have a small tv in the dining room that Eric watches his videos on and it seems like the living room one is always on something for Tyler or for someone else. It never fails that everytime I turn in on to something I want to watch, someone comes along and takes it or someone starts hollaring for me to do something for them. I guess that's the life of a mom.
Well my dishwasher has stopped working! Duck looked at it yesterday and can't find anything wrong with it. It won't wash the top rack. I've washed dishes this morning and it looks like I'll be washing them again in a few and again this evening to get them all caught up. I had it full to do a load and then I couldn't wash them so I started having to do them again by hand and got busy and they started piling up and now I'm way behind! I had a whole drainer full of just glasses. I got some plastic throw away cups for Tyler to use, Duck already uses them, but it worked for a couple of days and they were already gone. It seems like Tyler goes through 10 cups a day, literally! He does the same way with his clothes. He'll get dressed to go to school, come home, change, dress again to go feed the dogs, change, can't find the ones he just changed out of and get another set. I sure love him but he's a lot of work!!! I'd been trying to get him to clean his room for a week and he'd just do a little here and a little there, so yesterday when he got up, he was grounded from everything until until he got his room cleaned. Needless to say, it took him from 11-7 to get his room cleaned. He's not a very quick worker! I guess it those teenage years getting ready to hit!
Well, I've rambled on long enough. I'd better get over there and start working on the kitchen again. I dread it but it has to be done and if I don't do it, it won't get done. Everyone have a great day and I'll get on here again whenever I get my computer up and going again and not have to borrow someone else's.
I just started a post, typed a couple of lines, and it disappeared. It happens occasionally, I just wish I knew what I did so I could retrieve it.
Patches and I slept in this morning. I got up at 7 and decided that the bed felt pretty good, so we extended our sleep a while longer. I'm not sure what the temperature was early today but it only got into the teens this afternoon. It's 14 right now and looks like it'll be in the single digits again, maybe. I don't believe what the weatherman says anymore, the miss the forecast and just make excuses.
I told you in an earlier post that I had a stove in the basement. I went to my daughter's today and got a bucket of coal and built a fire again. Evidently something's not exactly right with the blower on the stove, I came back upstairs and the fire alarm in the basement went off, scared Patches and me both. I went downstairs, got the blower to work on "manual" and let the stove cool down. I think I'll just turn on the emergency heat so the heat pump won't labor so much tonight.
I'm getting low on groceries but I can wait until after tomorrow to go, we're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow but I'll believe it when it happens. I sure do miss Gammaw's good cooking and companionship. I keep talking to Patches and she just looks at me like I'm a big dummy. I'm also getting a little tired of bologna sandwiches.
As usual, Patches is curled up asleep, which she usually does until it's time to go to bed, then she wants to play. I'm glad she's here, she keeps me laughing when she's playing and chasing her tail. Cats are neat, but I've heard that one thing you can never do is baptize a cat!!
Stay warm everybody. KC, I hope you can get out soon. If it gets too bad, PM me and I'll come and get you..

Good Evening everyone! Thought I'd better post before I got any sleepier. Sam, Melissa and her friend Tara were here for awhile Playing pool, and I put off posting.I sure hope everyone is keeping warm. I have been so cold the last couple of days, that i'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever warm up. I had to pump gas this morning, and OH! was it ever cold! I am ready for Spring!
It looks like Deaser1 has deserted us again! I don't know what were going to do with him.I figured if I really got mean he'd post, but I guess not.
Deaser1, We love you , and really wish you'd get back to posting more often. you are really missed.
Louami, Ann Arbor Schools closed today because of the low temps. and I had three kids all day! Wow! It was a rough one. But I also hate the rush of getting Brittany to the Bus stop at 8:05, and then having to hurry back and give Lauren breakfast, get her dressed and at preSchool by (9:00) It ain't easy, I'm almost always late, because with all that, I still have to get Michael dressed, fed, and put his car seat in while Lauren is eating, too much rushing!!!!!!!!Oh well, enough complaining. I'm getting ready to thump Deaser1 real good, if he don't get back on here.He sure is a stubborn one! I guess I'm going to have to be nicer to him. Believe that? Nah! It ain't happening.Goooooooooooooooo Pistons!!!! I love you Sis!
Well, I'm off here, my bed is calling, I am bushed. I love you all. God Bless....................SG

It looks like the posts have slowed down.
We've had an interesting morning! Our drain pipe froze up last night. Me and Tyler was out there for 30 minutes trying to break loose the ice. We got quite a bit out, but we cracked the pipe, it made a really pretty spray! At least we found water. By the time we came in, the water on my gloves had frozen to ice. It took me forever to get warm. Tyler was in better shape than me, he has snow weather clothes to wear.
The snow is supposed to be here soon. According to the radar, it's coming fast. I don't know if I'll be able to make it out before it hits or not. Right now I'm waiting on the boys to finish eating and to get dressed. Well, Eric just came in and said he's done so I'm gonna get off here and see how it goes. It supposed to be here around 2 or 3. I may try to get back on again later.
