Me again,
Hope you like them. I still have more if you don't mind my posting them.
Guys/ Gals, we gotta keep this forum going, so let's make a commitment to post at least every other day, if it's only to say "hello". It is essential that we appear organized when we go before the Lord with our prayer requests. When two or more are "together", and ask in His Name, He will respond. With that I will bid you a good evening. Roamer and Gammaw, I will log on tomorrow to wish you a wonderful and safe trip. God Bless EVERYONE!!

Hi Displaced,
Thanks for the complement about the pictures. It means a lot to me!
You bet I have been watching the Suns! They are a really good team. I wouldn't be surprised if they won it all!! Sorry Sg, but I like Little Nash; he is a "throw-back" to the old time basketball players. He plays strictly for the game, and not so much for the money!
Thanks again Displaced Woman. Have a great Wednesday!!

Hi Everybody, Looks like everybody only includes Deaser1 and Displacedwoman the past couple of days . I'm starting to really get worried. Hello! Deaser1, have you heard of anything bad going on? By the way, Deaser1, those picture are really good. I can paint a room but not a picture. You have a talent there, you should share it with others, maybe start a gallery. You could make a lot of folks happy. I think we're ready for our trip. We got the yardwork finished before the heat of the day. Most of the "stuff" is packed, a lot in the car already, just a matter of loading what's left and hitting the road. It's about 375 miles to Hazard and we usually take our time and enjoy the ride. I'm not sure what time we'll be leaving, Gammaw hasn't told me yet, but I suspect she'll want to get an early start. We sometimes take backroads, but not tomorrow. Maybe on the way back we might consider getting off the interstate for a while. I'll try and check in when we get to our daughter's home tomorrow night. Louami, if you read this, we'll call you after the weekend. God Bless every one! Love you all! Roamer

Good evening all, Sorry I haven't posted, my computer has been acting up . I went to Shipshewanna with the Church yesterday, and came home and watched the game last night, and tried to post after and it wouldn't let me post. Joe did something tonight , and so far it is working fine. Gammaw, I sure wish I was going with you, I would love to go home for a while. I'm hoping to go in July. I sent you an answer to your personal message but it wouldn't send it, I think Joe has got the problem straightened out now though. The pattern is beautiful! I hope you guys enjoy your trip. we will pray for your safety and for a very enjoyable time while you are there. Deaser, I think everyone posting every day is a wonderful idea, I can post at work , if nothing else. All your paintings are gorgeous, but I still like the butterfly one best. I used to paint wood crafts that Joe made, we sold a lot, but we haven't done it in years, maybe I'll pick it up again. We are planning a Christmas Bazzar for Church, that would help , to have country crafts there, I don't know when I'd find the time though. you know , I knew you would find another team to root for, you just refuse to support my pistons, oh well, everyone can't be right, I guess. I'll just be happy if they beat Heat, I can't tolerate the way Shaq. acts. I think I would cry for a week if heat won the series! Well, I'm going to get off here and take a pill , between Shipshewanna yesterday and my flowerbed today, I'm a-hurtin"! love to all, God Bless....................SG

Hi Folks,
Roamer and Gammaw, have a wonderful and safe trip. I do hope you will find a way to keep in touch. Of course, take a lot of pictures (anything, anywhere, and anybody will be OK). We all remember how beautiful the mountains are this time of year, and you will be in a position to provide us a little taste of that with your camera. I pray that the Lord will be sitting in the back seat with you all the way. Just relax, and have a lot of fun. As Sg stated, I wish I was going with you. If you should visit Louami, give her a big hug for me. If you should "bump" into Carnas, don't believe anything he says about me. Talk to us as soon as you can!
Sg, so happy you like my paintings. For sure, if you have the time, you should get into painting again. I enjoy it so much. It takes my mind off all the bad that's happening in this crazy world. I hate to say this, but your Piston's are going to have a tough time beating Miami, so you may as well stock up on "hankies". Pat Riley has the Heat hitting on all cylinders right now. They are a very talented team with Shaq, Walker, Wade, and all the rest. I am still "rooting" for the Piston's, but unlike you, I am not going to shed any tears if they lose. Sorry! I do think the Sun's have a chance of winning it all. They are hungry like a wolf!! The next two weeks are going to be fun just to see which team will be able to last. They seem so evenly matched.
Well, that's it for tonight. Where are you Louami?? I miss you, as well as the other "Lou" lady. Brother Sam, you haven't logged on in a couple of days. We miss you. Fonz, Carnas, Max don't desert me like this. All you wonderful people need to talk to us, so please, speak up!! Fe, you gotta let us know what's happening in Hardburly. Any new births?? OK, I'm gone for now. By the way, like it or not, as soon as I find time, I will post some more painting photos. You guys/ gals have created a monster when you encouraged me to post paintings! Journey on, Roamer and Gammaw! By the way Roamer, I have another "hillbilly" saying I would like you to find info on. I'm sure you've heard "the whole kitten caboodle". What in the heck is a "kitten caboodle"? Bye!!

Hi to ye'all,
Sorry I haven't posted but I have been on line then off. SG I understand how your feeling about that. Also, I have been working on the display I will be taking to Louisville for The Ladies Aux Convention in June. It is finally finished and it is pretty. I would post a picture but it will be in competition with other districts and It has to be a surprise. If it is a winner then I will post a picture. We have three catagories, Inspirational, Patriotic, and Memorial. I chose the Memorial or maybe it could fit in the Patriotic. I used 500 buddie poppies. It was a labor to get all those into the display. I have missed you all and want to wish Roamer and Gammaw a safe trip. I too have commitments this week-end. Our reunion is beginning tomorrow and will last through Sunday. Give me a call next week when you are not busy. Deaser1, I just can't tell you how much I like the paintings. If I had to choose I couldn't decide which one I like the best, they are all very professional. Like I said you must have patience. I noticed you use a lot of mauve and that is my favorite color. It is a soothing color. Keep up the good work. God has given you a wonderful talent. Since I worked most of the day on the display and done nothing in the house, tomorrow will be cleaning day. I hope my INTERNET service will stay on enough for me to get on line and stay caught up on everyone. I miss Sam, Carnas, Fonze, Fe, and Roamer will have access if they have to come to my house. Good night all, Much love and prayers.........................Louami

Good Morn. gang; Looks like Summer has finally made it,it's suppose to get near 90 this weekend, guess the "little lady" will want to put on the air,oh well....
Roamer and Gammaw,I sure hope You guys have a safe trip back home,be safe and watch out for those coal trucks,I may be down a couple of days next week also if I get all the work done around here, don't be surprise if You get a phone call from Me.
Folks it's that time of year when I reminiscence about the time I was a kid, school would be turning out and the first thing to go would be the shoes "We only got one pair a year and they would be worned out by the end of the school year",I'd go bare footed all summer,I remember walking down to "Curts"store and walking on the railroad tracks and remembering how hot they were, the tar on the road would be bubbling up because it was so hot but I'd walk on it without a problem,My feet was so tough that I don't think you could drive a nail through them but one thing that did bother was the old "stomp toe",I had My share of them and when I did get a new pair of shoes I couldn't wear them until My toe healed up.
Deaser I think You might be able to make some money on Your paintings,You might even make enought to share with Your brothers,Ha.,honestly the paintings are great, wish I had the patience to do something like that, right now all My hobbies are collectables "stamps, coins, nascar memorabilia"but I would like to do something with My hands,I admire You, Louami,Roamer and Gammaw for what You guys can create with your hands, maybe we all can get together some day and have a craft show .
Folks, just three more days and I'll be free for a week,vacation.....huray,huray,huray...,oh no I got to work..
Sg,hope You'll feeling o.k. soon, don't feel bad about the "Pistons",they're come back,We can always fall back on the "Tigers"..,they're doing great.
Well folks ,I'll get off here, hope everyone has a great Thursday and hope Roamer and Gammaw has the thrill of their lives back home.
Later Carnas...

Hi Louami,
Welcome back! I know that you are dedicated to the forum, and if you have the time, you post. I kinda figured you must be too busy, doing something for some group or some event. I still don't know how you do it. One day I'm going to open the newspaper, and read that you are running for Governor of Kentucky! You would win too! I'm a little envious of Gammaw and Roamer coming to the "sticks" for a couple of weeks. I'm sure you will have a nice visit. Sure wish I could physically be there, but you know I will be there in Spirit. Just set an empty plate out on your patio, and pretend I'm there.
When you complement my paintings Louami, my body can hardly hold up my big head, because I have seen what an outstanding artist you are, and a positive critique means so much. I really respect Sg, Gammaw, and you in particular, because I have seen what you can accomplish with your hands. I'm sure all our family members are excellent at everything they set their minds on doing. That's the Kentucky way. I think growing up poor has increased our attitude to be firm and positive in everything we attempt, and if we are told to put "a square peg in a round hole", we will keep at it till "we get 'er done"! We may not always be right in the way we do things, but we never give up. I guess we are all just "stubborn Hillbilly's". Right?? Don't you just love 'em??
OK, it's bedtime. Roamer and Gammaw are probably out of bed, getting ready to leave for Ky., and I didn't even go to bed yet. But we are "night owls"; right Louami?? I will chat with you again tomorrow. Love you lady!! God Bless!!

The other "Lou" is checking in. Wish I had gotten on here in time to wish Roamer and Gammaw a safe trip. I pray the Lord will go with them and keep them safe. I will be going to Lexington Saturday morning for a family celebration. Sunday after church I'll probably drive up to Jackson and visit for a few days. Might even make it to Hazard one day.
Deaser your paintings are wonderful. You have a God given talent and are using it. What a blessing to be able to create something so pretty.
You asked Deaser1 about the saying "kitten caboodle" I think it is really "kit and caboodle" and means the whole "ball of wax." See there is another saying. Occasionally I'll run across a book with these old sayings in them and I like to see what they mean. Verna Mae Slone from Pippa Passes has written a book entitled "How We Talk" and I have it. She has some very good sayings in it. One of my hobbies is reading and I mostly like to read about Applachian history. What a wonderful part of the world is Applachia and has the best people in the world.
I see Displacedwoman has been posting. You guys don't know it, but she and I were raised right side by side in Lothair.
I have to get off here; have a lot to do to get ready to leave Saturday. Everybody have a safe holiday weekend and God Bless.

Good morning everyone, Glad to see some posts. I'm off for a while, trying to kill myself in the flowerbed, but at least I'm moving , right? I thought I had to go back to work tomorrow, but my boss just called from Ohio, and said she was staying an extra day with her family and that I could go let myself in, pick up my check , and take tomorrow of too. I said, " No, I'm tired of being home, I'll just go in, do the laundry, clean the house, weed the flowers, mow the lawn, and clean out the litter box, while you're gone." See how sweet I am Deaser1? Speaking of my boss, she said her grandmother was in the hospital, she is passing blood, I asked her if she minded if I put her name on the forum for prayer, that we had a lot of prayer answered, she said of course not. her name is June, she is a very sweet lady. I'll let you know how she's doing. Deaser1, I am amazed that you would root for the pistons at all! I think they are going to surprise you though. They are hungry too, and they have worked hard this season. I know Wade is good, but all Shaq. has is his size, I have no respect for him at all. He's just a big bully, and truthfully I think Wade is fast filling his big shoes, from the way he acted the last game, You don't have to try to kill the other team to play good basketball. displacedwoman, you have correctly named yourself, I can tell by your posts, your heart is in the hills, as is mine. I just wanted to tell you, if the Pistons have to be beat, I would rather the Suns do it than those ornery Cav. and Heat, so maybe we can face off in a few days. Deaser has doubts that we can beat ol' Shaq, but I don't. Well, I'm gonna go get more flowers, (Oh, Me!) I'll be back tonight, Love to all. God Bless...........SG

Hi to one and all!!
As I send this message we are having a biggie storm. Some hail and lots of lightening and thunder. I never worry too much about the storms because the mountains protect us pretty much. I just noticed the wind has blown leaves off a tree all over my porch. The first storm is passing and it seems we are getting another. I bet Roamer and Gammaw are feeling right at home tonight. Yes Deaser1, we hillbillies never give up. I have cleaned the house all day and added a few more things to the display. It want be finished until I know it is ready. At this point I have 650 buddy poppies in it. The more poppies the more it will get recognition. You really are a wonderful artists. You do wonderful work and in detail. I have to tell you I want be running for Governor. It seems that everyone we elect gets in trouble. I wish it wasn't that way but it seems to happen every time. I will have relatives in TODAY, I am never ready but it want matter a hundred yrs. from now, ( my new motto). My Mom used to cook a big pot of pinto beans, sour kraut, fried potatoes, onions and cornbread. Everyone had a feast. I might just do that. The thunder is getting worse, I think it is just a threat and nothing outrageous is going to happen. My Rorkie is under my feet scared to death. He is a real protector. I guess everybody are getting into the Holiday and don't have the time to post. It was good to hear from Annalou and Sam. Hope Sg is feeling better. Carnas did you ever see the geese again? I had another hen setting and today I noticed all the eggs are gone. Some varment must have snuck into the hen house. The three doodles are growing and getting outside the fence but they know how to get inside quickly. It's about my bed time, yea, I'm a night owl, but see I had the fun of riding the storm tonight!!! I love the night. It is still raining and the storm has calmed. Take care all, Much love and prayers,..................................Louami

hi everybody hope everyone has a really good weekend, the weather appears to be nice for the weekend, we really had a storm here last night, but no damages or anything from it. a lot of people will be traveling this weekend, hope everyone will be careful. it is so nice that roamer and grandmaw got to come back to our part of kentucky they seem to be such nice people, maybe they will get a chance to come to hardburly and see where our homecoming will be, it is really not that far off , it will be on sept 2 this year, we have already started making plans for it, i think this will be a really good one, but all of them have been, it is so good that people can get together for the day and just enjoy themselves. anyone that plans to wear their tshirt to the homecoming, just let us know what size you want and we will make sure you have it in time. deaser thank you for showing us your drawings, they are really good. carnas, buford, louami, sam, sg, and the whole gang, have a great weekend and thank you all for being part of our forum.

Hi Everybody,
We're home, got her about 3 yesterday afternoon. Everything's so green and it's really nice to be here. One of the things we plan to do while we're here is decide if we want to move back, our daughter and son-in-law have a house next door to them that they have offered to let us have if we want it. We're seriously considering moving back, maybe just a summer home, we'll decide soon.
Louami, you're right about the storms last night, they were pretty loud here in Jeff. I was up at 2am watching the lightning and listening to the hail rattle the windows. I think we had at least 2 rounds of it, maybe more. I was up early yesterday and was really tired last night, but it still woke me up. I haven't been out to see how many leaves that were blown from the trees, I've been sitting in the den drinking coffee all morning. We plan on going out later to get some things for the reunion that starts this evening.
Carnas, if you make it to Hazard next week, give us a call. I think Gammaw gave you our daughter's phone number. We'd love to meet you. If not, we may have to wait until September.
Fe, PM me and give me a number where and when we can call you. We're going to be here two weeks and we'll try and come tour the area.
The women are getting ready to go so I guess I'll tag along. I'll check back in later on today or tonght.
Love you all!! God Bless!

Hello everyone, Good morning from Perry County. Thank you so much for all the prayers yesterday. The traffic was terrible and I imagine it will be really "bad" today. We had that storm last night but felt perfectly safe here surrounded by these mountains. Our granddaughter, Miranda, has grown another inch since Dec. when we saw her. She's now 6 ft. 1in. tall. I'm only 5' 8" and we no longer see "eye to eye". She wears a size 12 shoe and is only 13 1/2 years old. Must be that great mountain air. Maybe she will be playing basketball for the Pistons or Cavaliers someday. I don't see why she can't at least be a UK player. She is a sweet girl too. Ramsey is into video games and hasn't spent much time with us yet.
We look forward to the reunion and will be having pintos, cornbread, macaroni, kraut and weiners, onion, chow-chow, etc. etc. as the meal on Sunday. MMMMMMMMMMMMM. You all come!!! Then we will all fall asleep at the auction. We have our camera and hope to get some great photos back to you.
We're headin' for town so I'll close for now. Hope to see Louami since we'll be here two weeks. Blessings, Gammaw

Hi Folks, Gammaw, happy to hear you and Roamer made it to Perry County OK. You sound very excited to be home, and I can't say that I blame you. Hope you had a nice visit in the big city today. I would really enjoy walking those streets again. I know a lot has changed since I was there, but Main Street in Hazard is still Main Street, and always will be. Friendlies, I'm sorry I missed logging on last night, but we had a nasty storm. As Brook Benton said "It Must Have Rained All Over The World", because I got reports of bad storms in Ky., Michigan, and Ohio. Thank the Lord; very minimal damage. Only a few trees down here and there. Gammaw, I once promised you that I would take a couple of photos of my "better half's" teddy bear collection, so I snapped some pictures today. The pictures were taken in two rooms, but both rooms are full, as you can see. For about 20 years now, Linda has been very content to receive teddy bears for every occasion, so that's what I get her. Makes shopping easy, but as you can see, she has accumulated quite a few over those years! I couldn't even photograph all of them, because they are scattered throughout the house. So, the pictures: Sorry Gammaw, the photos are too large to post. I will give it another shot tomorrow. In the meantime, here are a couple more photos of some of my paintings (are you getting sick of seeing them yet?). Well, that's it! I pray y'all will have a great Sunday! Sg, hope you are feeling better. Louami, hope your project is progressing well. It sure sounds like you put a lot of work into it. Gammaw and Roamer, enjoy your time in the "hills". I wouldn't be surprised if you decided to stay. I would be tempted to accept the offer proposed to you guys. OK, remember church tomorrow. I love ya all. God Bless!! Deaser1
