yep your right;there was a boy hurt in another house.i was thinking it was farther back than that.do you know what it was for.what did he do?
Yes, there was a young boy hit with a stray bullett. Alex Eversole was my cousin and was the first one through the door followed by the state trooper. Mr. Combs had a .30 cal carbine with 30 round clips taped end to end. Alex was shot and so was the trooper, after he shot them he prceeded to shot back at the police from the window. Alex had dropped his shotgun when he was shot and it was laying near the trooper who picked it up and shot Mr. Combs several times before he went down. Thats the way I remember my family talking about what happened shortly after the shootout.
y father was killed in an attempted robbery in December 1951 in Hazard. He was Joesph Lenoard Burner. Some records have him listed as Leonard Berner. From what I have heard he was shsot in the heaad while attempting to rob some type of business.

Ardell kennedy was my great uncle and I never knew him. I only discovered he murdered a women while researching our family tree. My grandmother Trunetta Kennedy Vires rarely talks about her family. She was ardells sister. And my great grandfather Elhanon Jones Sr was murdered in the 1940s while working as a sheriff deputy. My grandfather Elhanon Jones Jr was murdered in 1989 on Lost Mountain.ive discovered several other murders on my family tree that I'm researching that I plan to start my own web site about my family history
I heard that this story took place in one of the hospitals in Hazard. The young black man that was attending the body of a man who had died in the hospital was frightened so badly that when he went to wash the deceased man and when he touched his leg, maybe it was confined and he loosened it, the muscles reacted and the leg moved. I heard that the young orderly jumped out the window of the hospital. The young man's name was Mack Hill, who was later drowned saving people from the flood of 1957. I used to see him often driving a truck to pick up coal at the tipple near my home when I was 11 years old. Here is the story of that flood and his drowning. hazardkentucky.com/more/1957comments.htm
