I made my own version tonight. My kids were like, "It just looks like a ham and cheese hoagie." After they ate it, they said that the tarter sauce was what made it different and good. In fact my oldest made a cold ham and swiss later and put tarter sauce on it. I thought tarter sauce was just for fish!
The next time I go past one of the few remaining Jerry's, I'm gonna stop for a champ and maybe a hot fudge cake too.

Has anyone tried to reopen this restaurant? Seems as if it would prosper greatly if it was opened again. Looks like some one in Hazard would have all kinds of folks coming there to eat. I said this because every one in and around Perry County are wonderful cooks. Right??
