Hi.. im looking for info on my fathers family. My father is Manual " SIBO " Jones. EVeryone calls him Sibo... many probably dont know his real name is Manual. His parents were Elhannon Jones Jr and Nora Campbell Jones. His grandparents were Elhannon Jones, who was killed when trying to arrest someone years ago when my grandfather was 15 years old, and Polly Jones. Im not sure of her maiden name at this time. I know most of my grandpa's brothers and sisters but do not have a clue of who their sons and daughters and grandkids are. I have actually run into people im kin to and found out by just making conversation. ELhannons Jr's siblings were Noreen Jones Raliegh, Ollie JEan JOnes, James " CRow " Jones, Stella Ruth Jones. There are more but i cant think of them right now.. ill will be sure to post them later.. any info about my family and any family members that I do not know would be greatly appreciated. I do know my grandfather was married once before he married Nora and had a daughter i believe who name was jeanette or janet and the last i heard she lived in california. Ive never met this lady but i know she has a son named Shannon. I can find out more info soon about her and post it including her correct name. They had a long family line so it shouldnt be hard to find relatives... i want this info to pass it down to my daughter. Thanks for reading this post. Tiffany Rae Jones

Have any of you ever heard of wild Bill Jones? This would be my great grandpaw. We know nothing about that side of our family. My mother was a jones, but never knew her dad. All we know is his name was Bill Jones. He went by wild bill jones.
Tiffany, this might help. See, if you can gain any info on this, please.
This information was shared to me by my granny and people over the years.
Malon Jones married Dicy Combs, his real name may be James or Henry Jones not really sure. She thinks Malon was his middle name. She remembered some of their children being: Sam,John,Biram,Nancy,Elhannon,Rachel,Mary,Jackson and Elvira...Elhannon may be your great grandfather.
Andrew Borkin Jones married Mary Noble, their children were: John Jones married Arminda Smith William Farris Jones married Mahala Davidson Louraina Grigsby, I don't know who this is or what the connection was Rachel Jones married Albert Engle Sammuel Jones married Margaret Combs James Jones Rosanna Jones married Tom Engle Floyd Jones married Sarah Allen Henry ? I have no idea about him Vianna Jones married Green Combs Jess Jones married Queen Noble Ballard Jones married Carry Stacy Elhannon, granny remembered dying young (could this be your great grandfather?)
Do you know your great grandmothers name? You think it was Polly? if you find out, let me know on here please, and I'll ask around and try and help some more.
Can you give any information about your Nora Campbell Jones? I have a cousin by the name of Nora Campbell Jones, she married Robert Jones. I don't have any information about this Jones line, wondered if you might be able to help fill in some blanks. Thanks
Nora Campbell Jones married Elhanon Jones Jr. Her father was Harlous "Pig" campbell. Her Mother was Racheal. ELhanon Jones Was my great grandfather. From what I have heard he was a police officer who was killed on duty... He let behind his wife Polly "big Mom' Jones and many kids including Ollie Jean Jones, Burton Jones, Taylor Jones, James Jim Crow Jones.
This is an article that was in a newspaper sent to me by Eddie Childers. Malon Story Perry County News by Larry Johnson People these days take a lot for granite. Of course, life today is much more complex but on the other hand, years ago the word "luxury" did not exists. Around 1900, Malon and Dicie Jones, grandparents of Perry Circuit Court Clerk, Chester Jones, moved to Kentucky from Virginia to what is now called Lost Creek. Malon was born March 20, 1865 and died July 30, 1936. Dicie his wife, lived from April 14, 1859 to July 8, 1939. By profession, Malon was a logger, land buyer, store owner, boarding house operator, livrey stable operator , and Grist mill operator. At the turn of the century there was no railroad in Hazard, but the train did run as far as Jackson. There was only one road between Hazard and Jackson at that time, what we call today highway 1146. The only way people in this area could survive was to have dry goods transported by ....(.I cant read this part of the article ......LBM) would be another two day trip back to Jackson which meant one more night at Malon's farm. There were many accomplishments for Malon and Dicie Jones. Dicie had 10 children and what is now called "Dice" and the Dice Post office were named after her. the old Jones School at Lost Creek was also named after Malon and Dicie who established one of the seven original familied in Perry County. As far as their political affiliations, the Jones' were all Republicans. The children were: 5 sons: Sam Jones, Jack Jones, Bylon Jones, John Jones, and Elhannon Jones and 5 daughters, Nancy Noble, Rachel Fugate, Elvira Begley, Mary Gwinn, and Sally Smith. Now the fact that Chester Jones is Democrat, has nothing to do with Malon Jones or Dicie. Politics however, may have a connection between the three gernerations of Jones. In the first part of the 1900's Malon ran for Perry County Jailer and lost by a single vote. Following the election results, Malon offered a $500.00 reward for the person who admitted he voted against him. 1910 Perry CO Census 85/91 Malean JONES head 42 m w m1 31yr KyKyKy Dicey wife 44 f w m1 10-10 KyKyKy Samuel son 28 m w s KyKyKy Rachel dau 16 f w s KyKyKy Jack son 14 f w s KyKyKy Elvira dau 12 f w s KyKyKy Sallie dau 8 f w s KyKyKy 1920 Perry CO Census 26-26 Jones Malon Head M W 61 M Ky Ky Ky Farmer 26-26 Jones Dicie Wife F W 55 M Ky Ky Ky 26-26 Jones Elvira Dau F W 23 S Ky Teacher 26-26 Jones Sallie Dau F W 18 S Ky 26-26 Jones Jack Son M W 25 W Ky Laborer farm 26-26 Jones A. I have been looking into my Grandfather's family as well. His name is Tilmon Jones from Pigeon Roost son of Floyd and Malvary Jones. Children are as follows by age: Granville, Grady, Lola, Gracey, Burton, Bertha, Zola, Tilmon, Baby boy Jones, Stella, Shriney, Laurie, Edith. All of which moved to Powell County Ky when Tilmon was aprox. 8yrs. old after Floyd and Malvary was bought out by what is now Lost Mountain Mine Co. Tilmon is now aprox. 75 years old and is 1 of 6 remaining children. I have been told that Floyd's parents were Sam Jones and Margerete Combs Jones who are buried in Lost Mt. and Malvary's parent's were Borkin and Arminie Noble Jones who are buried in Dice. I would love to know more about any older generations for further tracing. I have also been told by my papa that we are in fact Melungeon also, this would explain the jet black hair and blue eyes. I was told that Granville the eldest child was grown when everyone else moved and he stayed in Perry County.
Today, I did a beautiful decoration for William Farris Jones(my great grandfather) stone. My granny(deceased) told me his stone was hand carved back in the day. It's a beautiful white cross. Mahala Davidson Jones is resting on the main top of the mountain. I was not able to walk the distance. who ever cut and cleaned the lower part of the cemetery it is greatly appreciated! Thank you so veyr kindly.
Lea, do you have any idea where Andrew Borkin Jones and Mary Noble Jones are resting? I looked the bottom half of the cemetery and I was not able to find them. Unless they are there and have a unmarked grave.
