Re: Izena's Restraunt « Result #1 Today at 7:49pm »
I remember Izena and the restaurant. If I'm not mistaken Izena passed away. I know that at least one of her sons died too. Haven't heard anything about them in a long time. I never actually ate at her restaurant but it sounds like the food was good.

Does anyone know where you could get help for Christmas? I have a family member who has a small baby and works in fast food and is having a really hard time getting their child anything for Christmas. At this point I think the only thing the baby is going to get is a few gifts from family. I know they really want to have something for the child to open up at home on Christmas morning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well you can certainly tell it was in a South Laurel newspaper. Sounds to me like they were having a hard time accepting that they were beat by a little mountain school basketball team. And if you're going to insult the size of someone's gym at least do it right....a small gym is often called a "cracker box" not a Cracker Jack box. At least Buckhorn got the "prize" that night. Congrats Wildcats!!!

Remember dolls, hot wheels, barbie, Tonka, uner the tree at Christmas?
Its sad that parents have taken that away and instead opt for the latest game system, games, hi tech gadgets for their kids.
Whatever hapened to tobaggans and mittens to send the kids out to build a snowman, make angels in the snow?
Kids are more obese than ever and the imaginations kids once had has disappeared, what about family time with an old fashioned board game?
It really saddens me to what Christmas has turned into, and instead of seeing kids frolick and play they sit square in front of the TV all of the time?
ANyone else agree?
I agree with you, IMO it's the curse of having things too good. I'm afraid of where this path is leading us. JMO

I wouldn't support banning any books or websites. What good would it do? I do support severe punishment for anyone that makes and/or sales meth or that made a bomb and hurt people.

This is such a neat idea!
When doing your Christmas cards, take one and send it to this address: A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Ave NW; Washington,D.C. 20307. If we pass this on, think how many cards these wonderful, special people would get. PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOU FRIENDS.
Maybe we can put a smile on the faces of some of our wounded warriors!
Thanks guys I can tell you this much I was deployed to the middle east last year at this time and it really sucks. One of the things that helped was all the letters and packages that we got from people back home. It truly is difficult to keep your head on straight during this time of year in a combat zone.
Here is a USO site where you can donate 25 and the USO will send a $75 care package to a service member overseas. Believe it or not these things really do lift spirits. You don't have to donate the whole 25 just what ever you can afford.
Thank you for serving our country and Merry Christmas SAM!
Thank you to all the veterans and current heroes who are protecting us as we sleep peacefully at night. Please stay safe and come home soon! God Bless all of you past, present, and future.
Re: What do you do?? « Result #20 Today at 6:45pm »
Well, if you just absolutely have to find something to do, you can always come over and clean my house. JK It's really hard for me to understand how anyone can have nothing to do. By the time I work, try to clean house, wash clothes, etc., well.... there's just not enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done. Plus, we have to sleep some.
